{"id":271,"date":"2005-10-29T13:36:06","date_gmt":"2005-10-29T21:36:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/batrock.net\/anime\/?p=271"},"modified":"2005-10-29T13:36:06","modified_gmt":"2005-10-29T21:36:06","slug":"play-ball-episode-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/batrock.net\/anime\/?p=271","title":{"rendered":"Play Ball &#8211; episode 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;The Comeback to Baseball&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/batrock.net\/animeimages\/pb03-01.JPG\" alt width=\"400\" height=\"300\" hspace=\"2\" vspace=\"2\" border=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>To prove that nothing will ever be easy for Taniguchi, he joins the baseball team &#8230; then he realises that the team kind of sucks.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThis episode begins with Taniguchi in an optimistic frame of mind, having finally returned to the sport he loves &#8230; after what must have been a year.<\/p>\n<p>There were quite a few interesting parts of this episode: Taniguchi&#8217;s warm welcome by the team was reassuring, and his frosty reception by the captain was only slightly unexpected. There was a fair amount of emotion involved when Taniguchi realises that he has not yet recovered his pitching ability.<br \/>\nThe suckitude of the team was something I really wasn&#8217;t counting on; they don&#8217;t cooperate and they can&#8217;t coordinate any of their own moves, which leads them to blame each other for any mistakes that occur.<\/p>\n<p>While Taniguchi has become a pinch hitter after realising he can not yet pitch for beans, I really don&#8217;t see how they can conceivably win the first game of the season.
