George is arrogant, but concedes that he is arrogant. The issue that holds Paradise Kiss back is that it has so many damned mixed messages surrounding those that Yukari has her closest relationships with.

Isabella finally gets to become slightly more than furniture, although showing her loveless childhood serves mainly to demonstrate that George was conceited even at ten; that, perhaps, he still hasn’t grown up.

“Designer”

I was going to say “Somehow we managed to get through an entire episode without George acting like a total bitch”, but then I realised he was pretty harsh to his mother at the beginning. So this episode can only win a few points for sensible George.

Otherwise, fairly good stuff.

I won’t bother saying George is a bastard. I will say, however, that this episode rocked. Yukari starts making sense, Arashi gets over himself, Miwako sings naked … much to like.

“Kiss”

Right here is where Paradise Kiss starts to get complicated. This is because everybody is interested in each other, which is always a recipe for danger. Kobayashi’s cinematography tells an intriguing story, though, and the SD actually works in this episode.
