Digimon Savers – episode 5
May 10, 2006 on 10:55 pm | In Digimon Savers | 1 Comment“Break into the Digital World! Dorimogemon’s trap!”
As I predicted, adversity breeds friendship between a rich boy and a boy with a burning spirit. The world smiles down upon this world of Digimon.

I can’t exactly pretend that Digimon Savers is particularly good anime yet, and I have to admit that I am actually enjoying listening to just how uninspired a lot of the voice work is in this show.
The ending is promising, however, as it implies the major change in the program’s operation.
Digimon Savers – episode 3

Introducing the traditional rival character! Problem is he’s a rich bastard with a level of arrogance found only in those who are escorted in limousines to their digimon fights.
Masaru’s just going to have to take him down a notch! Or learn to love him get along with him.
Digimon Savers – episode 2
April 18, 2006 on 11:49 pm | In Digimon Savers | Comments Off on Digimon Savers – episode 2“Burn, Digisoul of Anger! Flymon, lurking in the darkness!”
This second episode of Digimon Savers had just about the longest cold opening I’ve ever seen in anything. Clocking in at six minutes, it’s a wonder that they bothered with the OP at all this time around!
Anyway, the program seems like it’s been hit with sordid, under-the-table sorts of deals and its heroes have hardly the most noble causes in mind. It’s a bit simplistic, but it works for the most part.
Digimon Savers – episode 1

I had been hearing unfavourable reviews of this incarnation of Digimon, and so was wary about watching it. However, when I unleashed the digisoul that resides in my fist, I found that this was actually quite an enjoyable addition to the franchise!
Digimon Savers harnesses the conventions of shounen and Digimon in a way that makes this show click, but in a different way to previous offerings.
News at hand: Digimon Savers to be released in US in 2007. Oh well, I’m going to stick with the subs because number of Digimon properties released unedited? Zero.
