Too good, too bad

It looks like Black Cat has been licenced. I’d give you an explicit link to the news, but I can’t really find one. Funimation, please be more clear in your announcements!
The thing that is truly bizarre is that Black Cat is the only thing in my months of watching fansubs that has actually been licenced, and now I don’t know what to feel. I just think it was “picked up” at a good time.

If this all turns out to be blatantly wrong, I will cheerfully return to it.

Until then, I have decided to give up on making promises for updates. Someday I will be completely up to date, and on that day I will dance.
Until then, feel free to visit my village in Animal Crossing DS.

Genuine Progress Report

I’m making a headway in my backlog. I’m writing the articles, then when I’m done I will produce all of the images all at once. The image preparation is easily the most tedious part of keeping Anime Pilgrimage DX.

In my catch up stakes, Karin and Ginban Kaleidoscope are receiving lowest priority, while the other titles are receiving roughly chronological attention. I’m actually thinking of dumping Karin all together because it’s got that weird late night feel inherent in shows like Don’t Leave Me Alone, Daisy and Haunted Junction with none of the inexplicable charm that those two programs exuded.
Actually, Don’t Leave Me Alone, Daisy was more of a sick compulsion than anything near to charming, but you know what I’m saying.

I might just wait for Rozen Maiden Traumend to complete itself and do one major thing (as I plan to do for Rozen Maiden) rather than catch up individually.
It’s what we call “over commitment”.

My present reason for not being up to date is Mario Kart DS. If you’re online and up for a race, just contact me via gmail and we can exchange friend codes.

And, um, yeah … anime is good.

Industriousness

I have to catch up on the following:

  • Angel Heart 2 & 3
  • Bleach 58
  • Karin 3
  • Mushishi 4
  • Paradise Kiss 5
  • I have the day off work today, so let’s see how I go! (No, I did not take the day off work so I could watch anime).
I will also see if I can figure out how to alter this site’s format for the better. Bloody thin columns …

Update: I have to re-encode Angel Heart before I have a chance in heck of watching it.

    The Conspiracy of Time Off

November 17, 2005 on 9:57 pm | In Site News | Comments Off on The Conspiracy of Time Off

Apparently in the wake of exams, I’ve been hit by a three month overdue bout of fatigue. As such I haven’t had the motivation to watch anime as I need to be in a state slightly better than braindead to process the goings on and to write about them.

I hope to be back in shape by Saturday. Although next week I’m getting my wifi router and you’ll never see me again, unless you see me racin’ a kart.

(Also I’ve already updated 20 times this month, it’s not like I’m starving you or anything).

    New season woes

    October 24, 2005 on 11:22 pm | In Site News | 5 Comments

I don’t know what’s wrong, but I can’t get up the enthusiasm to watch any of the new season shows, short of Angel Heart (which has yet to be picked up) and Paradise Kiss.

I’ve actually watched the second episode of Paradise Kiss and I must say that it was fairly well excellent – a grand improvement on the first. I’ve also just finished watching Tide-Line Blue, but I am too tired to write at the moment.

It’s a problem I’ve been having lately: fierce writing backlog. Very rarely I will send an article out onto the inter nets because I am sick of it, and I did that today with Howl’s Moving Castle. I’m just too busy at the moment; it’s been three weeks since I’ve watched a DVD, for eff’s sake!
If I’m not too lazy, maybe I’ll watch Black Cat. Maybe. I’ve got so many inconsistently released series going (ie Monster, Play Ball and The Snow Queen) that I don’t really need to pick up more, do I?

The point is, and this is not a hollow promise, Tide-Line Blue and Paradise Kiss tomorrow.

UPDATE: Sorry, too tired for ParaKiss. I took a night off writing so I could … watch anime.

    Ahoy thar!

    Block almost conquered!

Monster 63, Tide-Line Blue 11, Sugar, Howl’s Moving Castle and Abenobashi should all be winging their ways to you soon!

Oh yeah, Appleseed too. I also owe you Haibane Renmei.

    I’m just that dedicated.

    Back in the State

September 29, 2005 on 7:05 pm | In Site News | Comments Off on Back in the State

I have returned from my holiday, learning one important thing: don’t attempt to work on holiday.

I’ve got to catch up on Honey and Clover 22 and 23, Tide-Line Blue whatever number it’s up to, and write like a million reviews. I’m up to date on Monster, so I’ll see if I can prepare a special on that, but with 62 episodes under my belt it’s going to be hard.

I’ve reached that point where, once again, I’ve got far too many writing projects underway, not just here but in several other realms.

In other news, I don’t really like the convention scene and I saw Serenity today. It made me feel. I almost cried. Damn you, Joss Whedon. Damn you.

    Live

September 24, 2005 on 10:51 am | In Site News | Comments Off on Live

I spent a month caught in a hopeless bleak despair. Anime Pilgrimage DX is not quite up to speed – I need to figure out how to get the templates in working order and such, as well as making all of the categories live – but it needed to be online.

I’m in Melbourne until Wednesday, which means no fansubs. However, I’ve got drafts of Abenobashi, Sugar and Howl’s Moving Castle just waiting to be published.
Therefore, you can rest assured in the knowledge that there will, in good time, be something to read.

Progress report: Batrock goes to the taffy pulling machine

September 15, 2005 on 1:52 am | In Site News | Comments Off on Progress report: Batrock goes to the taffy pulling machine

At the moment, I’m working on making the new and improved Batrock fit all of the images well. I’m going to keep the “one splash image” pattern I’ve been doing. Because I have to reupload every article I have written since the initial move to Batrock, I will hopefully be able to do this for every article along the way to create marvellous uniformity.
I’m far from King Code, though, so not quite sure how well it will go or how long it will take. I hope to just take a big chunk of time on the weekend and get through it.

Due to the whole different appearance of Bell-chan, I’ve actually edited things out of the finished Batrock versions, as of Honey and Clover 21. So there’ll be more exclusive content on the proper Batrock when it comes around. I know, it’s exciting.
