Kiba – episode 11
June 15, 2006 on 10:18 am | In Kiba | 2 Comments“Premonition of Conspiracy”
With the introduction of Cackling Dumas, Kiba has managed to break its own stupidity barrier. Consider me shocked, surprised, and perhaps not willing (or able) to go any further.
As predicted, Rebecca gets herself kidnapped by Hugh. Then extremely obvious things happen, plus Dumas goes completely insane.
This episode is littered with extreme close ups, some of which are so stupid that I couldn’t even begin to fathom them. When one of Rebecca’s men shows signs of betraying her that she cannot see, the audience is treated to an extreme close up of his evil smile, bordered by shadows. I wonder if this fellow is evil, director? Thanks for letting me know!
I was considering talking about the fact that the previous regime of Jimoto wasn’t actually very good either, and that there’s no honour amongst thieves, blah blah blah … but I think that Kiba is at this point actively trying to kill me. It’s the sort of series that has some good ideas in some episodes but frequently comes unstuck for reasons too numerous to mention in one hit: let’s just say it doesn’t have whole.

It was a pretty good episode, yet yes… the director must think the audience needs extreme help to fingure out characters(aka thinks we are stupid) that must be why he is (figuratively)writing EVIL on the characters in big flashy letters……. mabey he thinks no one got the flower thing a few episodes back (I had figured it out by just before Ruyo passed out) and so now he’s toning it down for the *stupid* viewers….

I really like the evil characters. They LOOK evil enough, but the director cant make a very good plot to go with it, that’s not as obvious. I wish they had a different director.
