Coyote Ragtime Show – episode 3

“The Man He Called His Right Arm”

Where better to find a man to recapture the glory of his former best friend but at a faith revival! Everybody happy! Every day happy!

My notes include the line “man, that’s stupid”, but I can’t remember what it applied to. I’m beyond caring, though, because I’m having too much fun.

Mister tracks down Pirate King Blues Dockley’s right hand man, the pastor Swamp Gordon. They swear to discover Blues’ bequest and pass it onto Franca.

One of my favourite things in this world is a good old fashioned faith revival so, when Swamp Gordon was introduced performing in one, I was in some sort of anime heaven (the circle reserved for petty enjoyments). Swamp, Mister and Bishop all have pasts which intersect yet are independent of each other; that is to say, Swamp and Mister have a different shared history to that of Swamp and Bishop. Their reactions to each other and the fact that they are not the best of friend makes for fun viewin’.

Which is what this is all about: fun viewin’ with some semblance of meaning. This is actually a show about pirates in space, the sort that go after treasure. Who knows if Mister will ever find the elusive one piece bequest? That’s going to be part of the fun of finding out; the other part is that there’s actually a time limit in place.
Marciano and Mister, fight to the finish! It was nice to see that April cared about the “death” of Sep but Marciano didn’t care a fig. I’m looking forward to the 12 Sisters rising up and killing their mother. That will be good indeed.

Coyote Ragtime Show achieves a criminal level of fun. In this instance I am not going to be very picky.

  1. I’m looking forward to see the 12 sisters and their mother going DOWN! (preferably to Davy Jones’ Locker)

Coyote Ragtime Show proves that the old saying “The more, the merrier” is very true indeed. Let’s all be happy. May you all never have a hairdo as bad as Swamp’s.
