Coyote Ragtime Show – episode 7

“The Treacherous Marciano”

The ship that our intrepid heroes get about in seems to utilise submarine physics. I’m not sure that any of the stuff in space should react as it does here, even for the sake of creative licence.

The Coyote parts of this episode are strange and pointless by comparison to the great stuff that we get at the hands of Marciano and the Twelve Sisters. Vaguely sympathetic, almost human, developments on that side? I’m okay with that.

Mister tells his crew that they must hope that providence plays a part in their reaching Graceland.
Meanwhile, a Mr. Nielson fixes the sisters and tells them “once this incident has been resolved, we will all go shopping together”. Nielson then asks Marciano if she regrets having killed Blues, but she goes off to kill some people instead of giving him a proper answer.

There has been some speculation that Marciano and Blues had a relationship, and that may be true; it does not explain why she killed him, and we do not know what is so incomplete about their relationship. Regardless of the outcome, I don’t think that Marciano has 13 daughters, if you catch my meaning.

The fighting sisters are good; the sister in the cage is good in her sullenness; the naked sisters are likewise good.
So, for once, the problem lies with the coyotes: they seem to look at Mister sleeping with a smile, then every time he wakes up they greet him with an emphatic “Mister!”.
It’s almost as if Mister was walking into the room and saying “Hit me!” and each time a jazz band would give him a sting. He could walk in and out of that room all day.

So let’s trust things to a power greater than ourselves, I’ve learned. Else Graceland will explode.

  1. Are you watching the raws, or am I just not finding the right place to download from? I’ve only been able to find fansubs through ep. 6.

  3. Am I the only one who thinks that it should actually be „Bruce“ instead of „Blues“?

  4. Depends on the group you follow. I heard “Blues” first, so I prefer it, but the closer I listen, “Bruce” sounds more accurate. It’s a lamer name, though; was he supposed to be Australian? (Oh wait, I suppose his hide out was space Uluru).

  5. It’s just that „Blues“ doesn’t sound like a name to me. (But I guess japanese people don’t care about that anyway due to their anglo-mania.)
